Scamander Sanctuary Holiday Park

We made good use of the communal kitchen, which was so well stocked that sorting out meals was quick and easy. Our glamping tent was spacious and comfortable, with everything we needed, and the hot tub was a lovely treat. The whole park was clean and looked after well. We’d gladly come back on our next visit.

Matt was so easy to talk to, always cheerful, quick to respond, and helpful. We had a great stay, and even had a Pademelon visiting our tent each morning. Our bell tent was clean and cozy for the three days we were there. It had a proper mattress, plus a heater, air conditioning, microwave, pots, and plates. It felt like it had everything you’d expect in a four star hotel. We were glad fires were allowed here. So many places in Tassie had a fire ban in Feb 2026, which was sad but understandable. The wood fire sauna was beautifully set up, and there’s nothing like a real fire. Matt also let us set the ice bath at the temperature we wanted. We used the sauna every night and loved it.

I really didn’t want to leave, and Matt was a big part of that. He was a great host, went out of his way to make us feel at home, and nothing seemed like a problem. The park’s close to town, but still felt secluded, and we pretty much had the beach to ourselves. Our glamping bell tent surpassed what I expected. It had a big bed, lounge, heater, air conditioning, microwave, fridge, and kettle. There was even a fire oven outside. The bathrooms, toilets, and camp kitchen were well serviced, and the sauna and plunge pool were amazing. I’d definitely stay again.

A good base for exploring Bay of Fires, and a welcome change from the small, stuffy hotel rooms we’d had on our Tassie trip. Our Safari Tent was really well set up, with a BBQ on the deck, all the cooking gear we needed inside, electric blankets on the beds if needed, and two air conditioners. We didn’t get the hot pool because it was already booked out, so that’s on the list for next time. The owner and manager was super friendly, and there was a pile of chopped firewood ready for our own firepit. Totally recommend it.
