I wish I could give the room and service zero stars. My stay at Blayney Goldfields Motel in NSW was deeply uncomfortable, and I want other travellers to know what happened. Reception stayed closed for my entire visit. I messaged “Michele” to ask for a bowl and got no reply, so I didn't bother raising the other missing items. I ended up going to the supermarket for a bowl, tissues, and a toilet roll, just in case. The roll in the room was already more than two thirds used, with no spare. There were no facial tissues or tea towel, no bowls or dinner plates, and only one fork, though there were two sandwich plates. For a room costing $140 a night, I shouldn't have had to buy basic supplies. With someone available, perhaps housekeeping items could have been provided, a different room offered, or messages answered. The room itself had several serious problems. The shower was barely more than a dribble. Turning the tap up made water spray from the top of the fitting and all over the bathroom, while the nozzle still only dribbled. It was hardly suitable for washing, let alone what a tired traveller expects. The basin mixer wasn't secured to the sink, so using it took two hands and was frustrating. It also felt dangerous with hot water, since I had to hold the tap steady with one hand while turning it off with the other. I wondered if it had been loosened so the jug could be filled, since it was a single piece with no lid to open, only a spout. If that was the solution, it was an incredible one. The bathroom fan didn't work, and the shower kept dripping even with the taps firmly off, which made a good night's sleep impossible. The couch was unusable too. Its padding or springs had sagged so badly that sitting down left me on the wooden frame. After I got home, I emailed Blayney Goldfields Motel about all this. The reply didn't mention any of my concerns. It was a generic message thanking me for visiting Blayney Goldfields Motor Inn, saying every guest was valued, hoping I liked the accommodation and service, and looking forward to seeing me again. “Michelle”, I did not like the accommodation or the non-existent service. I felt more like a cash cow than a valued guest, I didn't enjoy the stay, and I was completely unsatisfied. I won't return. I made the mistake of waiting until after my stay to read other reviews. It now seems my experience has been echoed by many others, so all I can do is add my warning.

We stayed here for our niece's wedding, and the experience was completely unacceptable. I left feeling that guests are being taken advantage of, especially as payment is required upfront for conditions this poor. For a small town where visitors expect honesty, hospitality, and respect, the lack of upkeep and management was appalling. The motel is run down and badly overpriced for what it offers. There was no way to reach management or housekeeping, and the office was locked at all hours. It gave the impression that nobody was overseeing the property. The online photos were outdated and bore no resemblance to the current place. Our room looked as if it hadn't been cleaned before we arrived. There were pubic hairs on the sheets and bathroom basin, and the shower, toilet, and vanity were visibly dirty. Spiders and cobwebs were around the room. Even basic items were hard to use: the tiny, filthy bathroom sink made filling the kettle impossible, and the TV volume didn't work. Outside was just as neglected, with leaves everywhere, beer bottles and cigarette butts around, and an overflowing ashtray at our assigned table. Parking was chaotic. Workers staying there parked wherever they liked, including in the spot assigned to our room, and they were very loud outside drinking all the time. This motel doesn't deserve a star rating.

We were offered another room because the aircon in ours wasn't working properly, but its unit was so loud that I took its blanket back to our original room. When I asked for another blanket, they flatly refused. In winter there was only one light blanket, so bring warm PJs and extras if you stay here. Don't expect service, and I won't be coming back. It took until much later in the night to reach staff. The TV remote was flat, so I couldn't change the Chanel, and not everyone carries spare batteries. There was just one side plate for us to share. The door gave us an electric shock. The sign said to turn off the electric blanket, but there wasn't one. Seriously, I definitely wouldn't recommend this place.

Cheap garbage. This is the worst motel I've ever stayed in. Stay clear of this dive, and thanks, work Downer.

Visitors of mine stayed there for a wedding. Their rooms were dirty, with hair in the bathrooms and beds, and nobody around to talk to about it. They said they'd never stay there again. I wouldn't recommend it.
