That private beach is lovely, with great walks in both directions. After a day seeing Flinders Island, it was such a peaceful place to return to. The shacks feel secluded, though Whitemark is only a short drive away for shopping, and the central island location makes getting around easy. Inside, everything was very comfortable, the kitchen was well equipped, and the living room and both dining areas have beautiful views. I’d happily come back.

Wallabies, wombats and beautiful birds sharing those views made the stay feel special. Sawyers bay shacks Flinders Island has a private beach to explore, a cosy double-sided fireplace you can enjoy indoors or out, and a private shack equipped with everything we needed to be comfortable. The mountains meeting the sea make for breathtaking scenery. A dream destination and a wonderfully relaxing getaway. We can’t wait to book again.

A great base for exploring Flinders Island, and there’s an excellent collection of books. The beach is just metres from the door and might be my favourite ever. Such a stunning spot to relax.

Sea eagles circle near the beach, and there’s plenty of birdlife to watch. With the decks, BBQ and fire, Sawyers Bay Shacks is a superb place to relax, read, walk, fish and birdwatch. It would work well for a family getaway, a writing retreat, or a holiday spent unpacking, unplugging and enjoying the place.

The large glass doors made it easy to take in the natural beauty around the shack. We stayed in the small one as a couple and had a thoroughly enjoyable time on Flinders Island. It sits quietly in the landscape, was comfortable, and had everything we needed. Being close to Whitemark and the airport was a definite advantage.
