The best part for the kids was being out exploring instead of on their phones. They’d come running back with updates about meeting the goats and feeding the horses, then ask if they could go to the swim hole. One of them even asked when we could come back. We first came for a simple overnight, followed by horse riding for my nine year old niece. That little visit has since grown into plans for overnight camps and her first job helping others. Helen is gentle, firm, kind, and an inspiration. If your daughter is even a little horsey, you’d do well to bring Helen into both your lives. It’s a real treasure to find the family farm Helen has made on her property. We also loved having coffee and treats on the covered porch, looking out over the arena. I feel lucky we found this place and get to share in its journey. Thank you, Helen.

The location is delightful, and having the Bombay swimming area nearby, where they can ride the horses, makes it feel special. Saddle camp has become a valued part of our lives. My son has been involved for years, and we hope that continues for many more. It’s such a welcoming, warm place to spend time. Helen is wonderful with the kids and lovely with the horses. Her passion shines through in everything she does, and it’s inspiring for the children and the adults in our family too.

Feeding the goats was such a wholesome highlight, one of those little experiences that made the stay memorable. The whole place felt calm, friendly, and full of heart, and Helen’s hospitality made it feel more like being welcomed into a home than staying somewhere. Helen and her family were genuine and so welcoming from the moment I arrived. I had a peaceful, refreshing time here and got to switch off and relax. I thoroughly enjoyed the stay and would definitely come again. Highly recommend it to anyone after a warm, authentic experience near Braidwood.

The space Helen has created feels peaceful and rejuvenating, and the natural horsemanship was refreshing and inspiring. My girls and I learned so much and really appreciated the care, compassion, energy, and all the thoughtful touches during our stay.
