Those mornings at Burraburoon Farmstay, showering in the sunshine, were such a treat. The place has big open views and beautiful starry skies, and the facilities had everything we needed. Tertia and Ken made us feel so looked after all weekend. They brought ice when we needed it and topped up our firewood with a smile. We had a brilliant Easter camping there and would happily return.
We were on a powered site with our camper trailer, and ended up adding another day because the farm was so peaceful and relaxing. There was plenty of wildlife around, too. The hosts were hard to beat.
We stopped for one night on the drive from Sydney to Adelaide. There are just four unpowered sites right beside the lake, each with a firepit, and you can buy a bag of wood for $15. The couple who own the place were lovely and really helpful. Hot showers and flushing toilets were available. Such a lovely stay, thank you :)
The property sits by the lake, with nice spots to sit and watch the birds and walks around the area. We spent three nights in the train carriage, which was very comfortable. Ken and Tertia were wonderful hosts and cooked delicious dinners each night. We had three really lovely evenings with them.
We stayed in one of the converted vans because it was raining, but next time we'd love to camp at Bob’s Bend. Burraburoon Farmstay feels like a hidden gem in the outback, with an oasis-like setting, a great location and quirky touches. The indoor-outdoor shower was a highlight, and the facilities were excellent, including the fully equipped outdoor kitchen. The hosts were lovely, and it made for an unforgettable visit.
