We went to Borden Hotel Motel for dinner too, and enjoyed the pub-style meals. I booked our room by phone a couple of hours before we arrived. The service was friendly and helpful, and the room was clean and comfortable. We’ll stay again and recommend it to others.

The rooms were spotless and the beds were awesome, and communication with the managers was wonderful. There are plenty of nearby places to get a decent meal. The motel is about two hours north of Childers. Well worth a visit.

We arrived early in the evening in the rain, heading to the pub for dinner. Donna kindly offered to drive us up and gave us an umbrella for the walk back. The meal, motel room and service at both places were all great. The location works perfectly for our trips along the Bruce Highway, and we’ll definitely be back. Thoroughly recommend it as a stopover.

The pub is just a five minute stroll away, with great meals at very reasonable prices. Our quiet motel find was at the southern end of town, about halfway between Brisbane and Mackay. The rooms were extremely clean and laid out well, the bed was comfy and the shower was hot. They even supply rainwater for the kettle and fridge. Couldn't ask for more.

The recliner chair was a lovely place to unwind after a day driving or working, and the bed was great too. Even though the motel is on the highway, I didn’t notice road noise. Great value for the price.
