Tree Elle

The loft was clean, and the freshly baked bread was a lovely bonus. We liked the farm setting, the animals to feed, and the fire, and the location is handy for the main hotspots. It seemed like a peaceful place for a couple or adults to unwind. With young children, though, I’d be concerned about safety. There’s no baby gate on the stairs, and both rooms have hip-height balconies overlooking tiled floors below, which creates a serious fall risk. The downstairs doors also have no locks, concerning with a highway nearby. The TV was old and had issues, and its remote had no batteries. Those are small inconveniences on their own, but together with the safety concerns, I wouldn’t recommend staying here with kids.

The gardens are amazing, and the sheep and lamas are friendly enough. Our immaculate accommodation had everything we could need, plus freshly baked bread, and the hosts were super friendly. It’s close to valley of the giants and feels like a must-stay. I’ll stay longer than two days next time, and highly recommend it.

I remembered Tree Elle as such a peaceful, tranquil little gem and a fantastic place for kids. I first went in 2012 with my kids, who were then 7 and 5, and those memories stayed with me. Twelve years later, when booking accommodation in Denmark last month, I chose to return. It was still an amazing place to stay. This time I brought my 3-year-old, who loved staying on a “farm”. Kim was an amazing host, with fresh bread on arrival and all the breakfast basics we needed. My son got to feed the chickens, collect eggs, and feed the sheep and alpacas. I’d highly recommend staying. Thanks, Kim!
