The location is good for local food and transport, the mattress was comfortable, and there’s a washing machine in the room. But after this stay, I’d tell people not to book here. Places across the road at a similar price are much nicer and properly soundproofed. At 2am I was awake again, listening to people from the backpackers opposite screaming and carrying on. There’s no noise insulation. We heard drunks, cars and street conversations word for word, and the street sweeper woke us at 7am every day. We were woken several times every single night. Service has been abysmal as well. We got one room service in 10 days, which is fine for a long stay, but supplies were extremely limited: no detergent, one dishwasher capsule, one measure of washing powder, and one bag for the tiny bin with no other options. I tried six times to arrange a late checkout. Each time, they said it wasn’t recorded from the previous confirmation, gave me different rules and checkout times, then failed to note it again. So when I asked the next day, nothing was on file and I had no late checkout. They offered to hold our luggage after checkout, but couldn’t manage two sets being dropped off at different times on checkout day. The “customer working lounge” had one power point, no tables, and I got six different answers about whether I could use it on checkout day. The top floor is only accessible by stairs, with no lift, which is a problem for people with a disability. The spa is still listed in the amenities even though it’s been gone for years. We requested an accessible room, but that seems to have gone the way of the late-checkout requests. All rooms have a bath shower, and the design is unsafe because there’s a rail to get in but none to help you get out. The Wi-Fi was basically unusable at any time of day. Bring your own internet solution.

We stayed in a studio apartment with a fully equipped kitchen, dishwasher and washing machine, plus a little courtyard outside the lounge door. The bed was comfortable and clean. The bathroom was clean too, with a washing machine and ironing board tucked inside a cupboard, and a smaller flatscreen TV. Nesuto is right on Akuna, which made it easy to walk to Canberra centre, Glebe park and the legislative assembly. With the mess on the roads from the LRT extension to Canberra’s south side, being able to get around without public or private transport was a big plus. The place was clean, the staff friendly and helpful, and the building felt secure at night, with the doors locked and keycard access. I was happy with the stay and would return if I visit Canberra again.

The rooms run on plug-in heaters because there’s no air conditioning, and those heaters can be dangerous overnight. There was leaking water in the hallways, with stained carpets and furniture. The place is very outdated and needs renovation. Don’t trust the photos, I think they’re AI. Do yourself a favour and stay somewhere else. The closeness to the CBD doesn’t make it worth it. In Canberra, it’s best to stay on the Braddon side.

The location was excellent, close to everything, and it’s a shame because it was a lovely hotel. But the room needs updating. There were several cracks in the bathroom, and the bed wasn’t attached to the headboard. It sat on wheels that wouldn’t lock, so it wasn’t comfortable to sit up and read. They clean only every four days, which felt gross to me when there’s a whole kitchen for heating or cooking food. There were no extra garbage bags or other place to put the rubbish. I’d prefer fresh towels daily or every other day. I asked them to change the shower curtain because I thought it had mildew, though I’m not sure it did. There were no washer-dryer instructions either, and it took forever to dry the clothes.

The team were very kind when my plans changed and I could no longer stay. I wasn’t entitled to a refund for my booking, but they understood the circumstances and gave me the full amount back. The location is fantastic too. I’ll definitely book with you again next time I’m in Canberra. Thanks!
