We had such a good trip and even brought one of the paintings home. The two hosts were both really lovely, and the hotel was nice.
There was so much space, with a very high ceiling and imposing brick walls on two sides. The room and bathroom were super clean, and the shower was awesome. I liked having both a separate shower and a bathtub, and the kitchen area was tidy with plates and cutlery, though there’s no stove. The abstract painting kept bothering me because I couldn’t work it out. At times I saw living tissue with blood vessels, other times roots in multicoloured soil. I gave up. And I couldn’t find two bricks in the room that matched.
It’s an easy, pretty walk into town, though a bit of a walk. The owners and managers were friendly, and the rooms are big. The bed was comfortable, but it got quite cold overnight. The heaters worked well. Checkout at 10am was definitely earlier than I’d have liked.
Way overpriced, and the place was appalling. The staff were extremely rude, and the rules list is ridiculous, especially with children. The rooms aren’t serviced, and I felt watched every time I moved around. While I was using the BBQ, I was told not to use the bin underneath it and to walk around the side of the house to the dumpster instead. Not acceptable at those nightly rates. I will not be back.
