Bright Chalet

The meals and Chef were the best part of our stay, but I wouldn't recommend this accommodation. After our group arrived following a six-hour coach trip, all our rooms were mixed up, and the owner blamed the cleaning staff. Once it was sorted out, the rooms were very basic. Some people needed clean towels after two days, but when we got back from our day out, the used towels were still on the floor and no fresh ones had been left. The owner was arranging our stay in Goulburn for the return trip, and we overheard them make a derogatory comment about our elderly group to the motel there. We stayed a couple of weeks ago and were very disappointed. There are plenty of nicer places in Bright.

Room #3 is right beside the interior wooden stairs, so it's extremely noisy. The Chalet is popular with cyclists who get up too early and wear cleats indoors. Bright Chalet is a little run down, but the rooms and beds are perfectly comfortable. There's a modest breakfast included in the reasonable room charge, and shout out to Neil for the delicious omelete! It's 2km out of town and still walkable, though guests with a car would be better accommodated.

Bright's town centre and the rail trail are close by, and the reception and breakfast staff were friendly. The cleaning staff, though, were rude and unwilling to help, which was especially disappointing considering what the room cost.

The breakfast was a nice extra, and the breakfast staff were pleasant. The location was good too. Even so, if you can find somewhere available in Bright or nearby, I'd strongly advise staying there instead.
