The staff were lovely and helpful, the rooms were clean, and the amenities were nice. After three weeks of travelling, we were even able to do our laundry. Great motel, and I’ll stay again next time I’m in Brisbane 😊

The manager made me feel welcome from check-in right through checkout, and was especially thoughtful about my safety as a woman travelling alone. I was in Brisbane for work for a little over a week, and the location is close to everything I needed. The price was great, with the service and amenities as an added bonus. I’ll stay here on all my Brisbane trips. It exceeded what I expected. Thank you!

Our family booked a room for two adults and two children at Albion Manor back in May. Two weeks before the trip, we couldn’t find a confirmation email and had to call several hotels before locating the booking. We checked in on Friday, and that’s when the problems started. As I carried bags upstairs with my 13-year-old son, someone who appeared to be a manager stopped me in front of other guests and loudly accused me of sneaking extra people in and “trying to cheat the system.” She initially blocked us from going to the room and kept arguing in front of my son. I said it was inappropriate to speak to me that way with him beside me. She continued raising her voice and making accusations while other guests watched. I offered to take him up and return to talk privately, but she continued accusing me when I came back, insisting I had booked for one person. I explained we’d booked a family room for four and had even offered them the chance to match Booking.com’s family rate when I booked earlier in the year. Still, she demanded another $80 per night. After more back and forth, she confirmed we had booked a family room but insisted on an “extra bed” fee of $40 per bed per night. They said Jesse, the manager who handled my original booking, was “no longer with them.” When I asked them to honour what he’d agreed to, they said “unseen circumstances” around his departure prevented that. Staff changes aren’t the guest’s fault, and the original booking and rate should have been respected. The room was disappointing as well. Their “family room” had a double bed and an enclosed balcony with two single beds on wheels. There was no air conditioning or fan in that space, and the ventilation was poor. My kids couldn’t sleep comfortably and ended up putting the mattresses on the floor. The kitchen had mismatched plates and cutlery and barely any essentials, so we had to ask for dish soap and cloths. The water pressure was the only good thing. The whole stay felt upsetting and unprofessional. No guest, especially with children present, should be publicly accused or spoken to like that. It seemed they cared more about getting extra money from us than providing decent service. I don’t recommend Albion Manor and won’t return. I hope management, especially Christine, takes this feedback seriously. No family should have to go through this.

The family room was spacious, clean and comfortable, and there’s a lovely place for breakfast and coffee just down the road. Communication about after-hours check-in was excellent and made everything easy. The team was very accommodating with our late checkout, too. We’d happily stay again.

A last-minute flight cancellation on our way home to Adelaide left us looking for somewhere to stay for the night. We aren’t from the area and didn’t expect much when we found this place, but it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. It’s close to the airport, about a 10-minute bus ride away, with the stop across the road. Even though we arrived after closing time, a friendly host gave us the code to collect our key and was lovely to chat with. The room was clean, spacious and had lots of amenities, plus there’s a pool. We’d love to come back if we’re in the area. Five stars.
