Awful. I wrote a longer review, but have so little respect for this place that I can't be bothered editing it. We were in a group where 90% of people complained about cleanliness. Our room was dirty and the shower leaked. After finding enough hair to make a small wig, I had to beg to be moved. When we left, we did a thorough check so we wouldn't leave anything behind and found someone's medication in one of those tubs that separates pills by day. To me, that showed the rooms weren't being cleaned. Our twin room also had no privacy at the toilet, so people had to wait outside. One staff member was useful, but only after I kept arguing. A woman who was apparently a manager accused me of lying, saying, “That is what you are saying but I cannot take your word for it,” about something that was easy to prove. One night, another guest who'd had a few drinks innocently tried to get into our room while we were out and left the signs on the floor. I had to argue to get the CCTV because I didn't trust that the situation was innocent. The staff made us feel extremely uncomfortable. It's on a horrible hill, too. My advice is to find another budget hotel. Budget doesn't mean filthy, rude and incompetent.

I liked the room design during my four-night stay. It felt modern and practical, and the blackout blind helped me sleep well. The shower area was spacious, the TV was a good size, and the automated car park at the entrance worked without a ticket. The hotel sits on a slope with a better view of the city, in a fairly quiet area. Breakfast came with the room, though the choices were average and the buffet changed only once or twice. Freshly brewed coffee cost extra. A few things could use attention: the mirror and basin were worn, there was no curtain to stop bathroom light spilling in, and another clothes rail would help. Toothbrushes and other daily essentials were available from reception on request. You couldn't watch YouTube on the TV.

The staff were welcoming everywhere, from reception to the restaurant, and Nikki, the Express Agent, was especially helpful with quick email replies when we had requests after booking. Having breakfast included over the public holiday period was really convenient. We stayed December 23-30, 2025 and had a lovely, memorable holiday in Australia. We're planning to visit Japan in mid-January, but there are only limited IHG options in the city we're going to. Otherwise, we'd definitely pick IHG again.

Breakfast was a highlight, with a good selection that kept getting replenished and staff constantly clearing tables despite the hotel being packed with tourists. The Burcher Muesli was a delicious surprise, since it's rare to find in Australia. The cleaning crew also deserve credit for keeping the rooms in good shape through hectic weekends. We've stayed at these hotels around the world, and this one is among the best run. The location was convenient and the staff were nice and helpful. We came over Valentine's Day weekend, so the Saturday night rate was very high, though that's what hotels do. Parking was very expensive too. We'd be happy to stay again. The bar had a nice choice of beers and drinks, and we liked the rooms and breakfast. The hotel is in a good spot in Brisbane, and we were happy with our stay. We did run into an issue one evening when some dinner items we'd already paid for had sold out. The hotel manager sorted it out and refunded us.
