Hope Street Apartments by CLLIX

The Leisure Centre was a real treat: the pool, sauna, and spa all worked perfectly, and I felt rejuvenated. There was a gym too. The apartment itself was spacious, with a lounge, kitchen and living area, a bedroom with a massive bed, a clean modern bathroom, laundry facilities, and a balcony with spectacular views for eating outside. I was in town for a match at Suncorp Stadium, about a 15-20 minute walk away. From Roma Street Station, where I arrived by coach, I walked to the apartment with just a small backpack. South Brisbane and Southbank Arts & Culture centre, other transport hubs, late-night convenience stores, and plenty of cafes, bars, and restaurants are also walkable. A convenience store is right outside the Hotel Entrance. I've stayed around South Brisbane and West End for a few years, and more dining options keep opening up. The apartment is close to the busy West End and South Brisbane areas, with lots of dining, entertainment, shopping, and study options. The event was a perfect fit for the location. As in any major city area, be cautious late at night, though generally I felt safe walking around.

The views were great and the design modern, but there wasn't much else going for it. We found questionable marks on the cushions, makeup on the walls, and cutlery that was filthy and hadn't been washed. The bed was very hard and uneven, and it gave me back pain the whole trip. My partner and I are usually very happy with CLLIX apartments, but this one was a miss.

Reception staff were lovely, but the apartment was a letdown after the pictures gave us high hopes. The rooms looked quite different in person, and our whole level had a strange smell. We were especially excited about the pool, which was the main reason we booked, but it was dirty, murky, and poorly maintained. We probably won't return.

The room was very clean, and the location and view were wonderful. Matt P was welcoming and helpful at check-in, and all the staff were lovely. I'd stayed at Hope Street Apartments before and booked again for a friend's birthday. I've tried lots of apartments in Brisbane CBD, and Hope Street is my favourite. I'll keep coming back.
