The service stood out throughout my stay. Reception staff were consistently professional and greeted guests by name, and room service arrived promptly with flawless presentation. The spicy chilli spaghetti was delicious. I also appreciated the well-stocked minibar, with a wide range of premium options. The rooms were spacious, with a bespoke pillow menu and a contemporary open-concept shower. The building itself is striking, with a soaring atrium full of natural light, dark marble floors, a sweeping spiral staircase, and red velvet circular banquettes. The open glass elevators give a great view of the tiered balconies and their greenery, and really show the scale of the place. The location is handy in two ways: the Elizabeth Street entrance makes arrival by car easy, while the Queen Street side opens onto the city's main mall, with plenty of shops and places to eat. An outstanding experience at the InterContinental Brisbane.

We reported the matter to police. After checking out, we realised within a few hours that we'd left valuable items in our room. We contacted the hotel right away and gave very specific details about where the items were, but they were never recovered, and the hotel has taken no responsibility. The process was incredibly frustrating. We were passed between people, had to keep chasing updates ourselves, and were repeatedly told someone would investigate or get back to us, which rarely happened. The hotel said it followed its internal procedure, but offered no transparency about what that involved or how searches were done. Nobody asked questions about what was missing or what the items meant to us, or showed real interest in investigating. The lack of ownership, communication, urgency, and care has completely eroded our trust in the hotel's processes and its duty of care toward guests' belongings. The outcome was disappointing, but so was the way it was handled. We won't stay at another InterContinental hotel and would caution others considering this property. If you do stay, keep valuables with you at all times. Our experience suggests that when something goes wrong, you may not get the care or accountability you'd reasonably expect from a hotel of this standard.

Breakfast was really good, with plenty of variety each day, and we slept comfortably on the bed and pillows. The hotel was modern and clean, and we highly recommend it after our two-night stay. Sophie, the front office trainee, was friendly and accommodating. Thanks as well to Manager Christ at the restaurant for looking after us, setting up a private room for both breakfasts, and making our barista coffee. 😉

Google Maps and Waze both sent me to the side of the hotel instead of the front, so I had to circle the block. Marta greeted me warmly when I arrived and was very accommodating. The main lobby is still beautiful and impressive. The hotel was recently taken over by IHG from Hilton and is going through some much-needed renovations as of Feb '26. The rooms were clean and comfortable, though definitely dated.

We felt like family during our stay at Intercontinental Brisbane, and the staff were above amazing. The room, food, pool, and fantastic location were all great. 11/10, we absolutely loved it and will be back soon. Big thanks to Ricky & Pinar at reception, Ana at the bar, Kay & Edna in the club lounge, and Shants, who looked after us at breakfast. What a team!
