We thoroughly recommend this place and will definitely stay again. The apartment was spacious, with modern furnishings, air conditioning in both the lounge and bedroom, and a nice balcony terrace. The local area has restaurants, a grocery store, and a bottle shop all a few minutes' walk away. There's also a short walk to a stop for the City Cat river ferry. It was a lovely 30-minute trip down the river, took 20 to 30 minutes, and cost just 50c Australian or 25p UK sterling. You tap a credit card when boarding and again when getting off, and can stay on for as many stops as you like at that fare. We stayed before a cruise, taking a A$40 taxi from the airport and a A$30 Uber to the cruise port the next day. Check-in was easy with a code sent on the day. Check-out was very early, at 10am, but a lovely staff member made it easier by letting us store our luggage in the office.

Portside worked really well for a short stay. The accommodation was clean, practical and easy to get into, with everything we needed. There are supermarkets, wine shops and plenty of other food spots nearby. We especially liked Birds Nest, a great little Japanese eatery. Staying outside the city area also made getting around easy.

The apartment was spacious and had everything I needed, and I was lucky to get upgraded to a two-bedroom place. I stayed four nights, and booking, payment and check-in were all simple. It’s well located for food and entertainment, and I thought it was well worth booking.

Returning the key and getting out of the car park on a Sunday morning was a nightmare. The only available spaces were disabled spots, so I ended up parking illegally while trying to sort things out. Why doesn’t the garage exit open when a car approaches? Having to cut across in front of an incoming car to tap the fob feels dangerous. Once outside, there’s still nowhere obvious to stop and return the key.
