The stay was comfortable and the staff were professional and helpful. The room was spacious and generally clean, though the floor was quite dirty. The living-room TV didn’t work, but there was another one in the bedroom, so it wasn’t a big issue. The location is excellent, with many sights easy to reach on foot. My main concern is how marketing consent is handled. At check-in, it was bundled into a long list of standard terms to sign, without making it clear that signing also meant agreeing to marketing. Since declining to sign seemed to prevent check-in, it gave the impression that marketing consent was required to stay. My friend crossed out that line before signing and was told this didn’t count as refusing consent. Later, I was asked again to agree to marketing use of my data when connecting to Wi-Fi. Reception said there was no way to use Wi-Fi without agreeing. I was told guests could fill in a separate form to “suppress” marketing messages, and that guest data is kept indefinitely, but neither the form nor that explanation had been mentioned during check-in. Marketing consent should be optional. Clearer information about how data is used and retained, and what choices guests have, would help people make informed decisions. Shortly after my stay, I received my first marketing email from the company, despite being told that submitting the suppression form would stop marketing communications. The process clearly isn’t working as explained!

The panoramic views from our 3 bedroom altitude suite on the 71st floor were better than I could have imagined. We could see most of the city skyline, the Storey bridge, the other Meriton tower to the west, the distant rolling hills, and the winding river with ferries constantly passing. I could have stared out the windows for hours. The apartment felt luxurious, spacious, and like a real home. There was heaps of storage too. The only small drawback was the oddly shaped second bedroom. The bed nearly touches the angled wall, making it hard to get past, but it was a very minor issue. The reception staff were amazing, and the facilities were great. My kids loved the pool and spa. Woolies is an easy walk away, there’s an expensive convenience store at the hotel’s base, and restaurants along the river near the bridge are just a few minutes away. If you’re arriving by train, keep in mind it’s a very hilly walk from the nearest station, especially with luggage. It was one of our most magical stays, and now the kids want to move to Brisbane. 😂

The room was clean and neatly presented, but it didn’t feel as premium as the website and branding led us to expect for the price. The parking was especially inconvenient. It wasn’t on-site, and getting to the car park meant walking down a fairly steep hill, then back up with our bags. Clearer details about its location before arrival would help. The hotel also felt less central than we expected. It’s closer to Fortitude Valley than Queen Street Mall, which didn’t suit our plans; booking sites could represent that more clearly. There was also vomit in the hallway by the elevators during the day, and it was still there when we came back in the early evening. That was unpleasant, particularly for a hotel presenting itself as high quality. Better monitoring and quicker cleaning of shared areas would help. My partner Sami and I recently stayed at Meriton Suites Adelaide Street. It was okay, but we wouldn’t rush back. We hope the feedback helps improve future stays.

The pool facilities are tremendous, and I’d highly recommend them. This is a lovely apartment hotel, with generous, well-appointed rooms, a very comfy bed, a great shower, and a kitchenette. The air conditioning works really well, which is needed because the outdoor floor area gets quite warm. The staff are delightful and attentive. There’s a lovely view across to Storey Bridge, plenty of nearby restaurants and cafes, and a minimart downstairs. The parking and rear driveway are excellent.

At first we loved the room and staff, and everything seemed amazing. Then we accidentally lost a room key and told the front desk. A woman gave us a replacement, but didn’t deactivate the missing key. We didn’t know we had to ask. Our room was broken into and items were stolen. Police were notified, and Cathy at the front desk was amazing in helping us. But it’s ridiculous that we weren’t the first people to lose a key and the original replacement wasn’t deactivated for our safety. It feels like not everyone at the hotel cares about guest safety. They’re lucky we don’t have lots of money, because the wrong person could have done even worse damage to the hotel’s reputation. We won’t be back, and hope Meriton takes guest security and safety seriously.
