Meriton Suites Herschel Street

Breakfast the next morning was excellent, and we’d happily return and recommend Meriton Suites to friends and family. The room was spotless, a good size, and had all the amenities you’d expect from a quality hotel. The staff were professional, friendly, and attentive from start to finish. We had a few requests when booking, and the team went above and beyond to accommodate them, making our stay memorable. We stayed here some time ago and were thoroughly impressed.

We had a two-night stopover after a cruise before flying home, and this was an absolutely awesome place to stay. The location was perfect, close to everything. The room was a great size, and we could easily have stayed for a week or longer. The bed and pillows were amazing. We’ll definitely stay here again.

The front desk staff were efficient, professional, and friendly. The bed was comfy and the air conditioning was welcome, but there were a few niggles. I’d asked for the highest room possible with river views, but we ended up on the 16th floor with only a diagonal view of the river. There were grey carpet fibres in the bathroom that I first thought were dust, and the sink wouldn’t drain because it was clogged with blond hair. The bath-shower combination was slippery. The fridge kept leaking even after I called maintenance. The shower tile grout may need attention for mould, and the kettle was so questionable that we bought a new one for coffee. The pillows were huge. The advertised five-minute walk from Meriton to Queen St Mall took us another 15 minutes.

Mel at the front counter was extremely welcoming and kind. I was confused about the payment and parking, but she cleared everything up quickly and easily. She was a standout among the hotel concierges I’ve dealt with. Full kudos to her. My friend and I had an absolutely incredible stay at the Meriton in Herschel street.
