Oaks Istay River City Rental, Brisbane, Australia

We loved the place and the people working there. It was spotless, and staff were very accommodating. Their emails were prompt and polite, and they received our several Woolies orders for us, which we really appreciated. The location is superb: we walked to lots of restaurants in under five minutes, including Wu Kong Chinese, Doughcraft, French Exit and Naldham House, as well as the Botanic Gardens and the riverside. There's a BWS and convenience store right downstairs. Great value and service for a four-star serviced apartment or hotel. Excellent value.

The first apartment was very dated, with tiled floors, an old-fashioned kitchen and a very basic bathroom. We had to move because we'd booked twin beds but were given a double. The next room was better, though it was noisy outside. The bathroom was basic again, and the kitchen was well used. I wouldn't recommend this accommodation.

Emma was really kind, but even her great service couldn't make up for the rest of the stay. The room smelled awful and the internet didn't work. Next door, a construction site ran heavy machinery overnight. A terrible hotel.

The 24/7 kebab shop downstairs was a real bonus, especially for a late-night bite after a long day or night out. Oaks Brisbane River City Suites is right in the middle of Brisbane, close to what you need around the city. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the service was great. Comfortable place to stay, and I'd recommend it for a short visit or a longer one too.
