Frances and the staff did more than we could have asked to make our day work for us. We had the small, relaxed wedding we wanted at Barefoot, and it was perfect. We’ll be back for anniversaries.

We stayed at Barefoot for six nights with family, and the house was great. The rooms were all comfortable and felt luxurious, and the honeymoon room’s outdoor bath was a lovely spot for the bridal party to get ready. The kitchen had everything we needed, right down to muffin tins, and tea, coffee and basics like olive oil were supplied. Having the rooms in separate spaces worked well, since early risers and night owls could each do their thing without disturbing anyone. Our wedding there was small, relaxed and elegant. The garden was just right for both the ceremony and reception, and we could easily nip down to the beach at sunset with our photographer for couple photos. The food, all vegetarian and vegan from the Chef's Pocket, was delicious and generous. Francis handled the planning so well that we had a lot less to worry about. We used a few of Barefoot’s suggested vendors, including the French Petal, Shane Shepherd photography and Little Wild Things babysitters. Along with the Barefoot team, they helped everything run smoothly. A special shoutout to the lovely bar staff, who kept the bride and groom fed and made sure we had a drink in hand. They cleaned up so thoroughly after the reception that you’d never have known there’d been a party the next day. We’re so glad we chose Barefoot for our wedding. Thanks Tim and Francis!

The layout made it easy for everyone to have their own space, while the shared living areas were great for games and hanging out. There were 13 of us, eight adults, four kids under five and a four week old baby, celebrating two milestone family birthdays over a week. The kids loved the garden, and the beach was a short stroll away. The pool kept them entertained for hours, even with some really bad weather. Frances and her team brought extra bedding for the children, and a special thanks to Pixie for all her help during the storm. We can’t recommend the property highly enough and can’t wait to come back.

The gardens felt like a quiet little retreat, and having several pavilions meant we could get away from family noise when we needed to, then come back together in the big kitchen and lounge. We had eight adults and four kids, and found all the comforts we needed. The house blew us away, and the location is wonderful. Tim and Frances were absolute gems. Booking was easy and everything was well prepared before we arrived. Frances was a big part of our wedding day, from helping with flowers on the arbour in the wind to tearing up during our first dance in the garden. She guided me through the planning and went above and beyond to make things run smoothly. We had our ceremony on the beach and dinner on the back deck. We’ll always remember your hospitality and hope to share this special place with family and friends in the years ahead. Tim, if you ever decide to part with this gem, I hope the new owners keep sharing it the way you do. It’s a lovely part of the world.

With adult children and grandchildren, we loved having both privacy and plenty of room to be together in the gorgeous, exotic setting. We spent a lot of time at the pool, especially the reading pool, and in the open living room. There was also yoga on the deck and plenty of swims at sunrise and sunset, thanks to the one-minute walk to the beach. Frances was always responsive and available, with great tips and guidance. Byron Bay, Suffolk Park and Brunswick Heads are close by when you manage to pull yourself away from the pool. We loved everything about Broken Head. It was a five-star stay in every way.
