Charm City Motel

The location is very convenient, and the service was okay, I guess. Room 9’s shower is broken and keeps flooding the room, though. There’s no restaurant attached, and the fridge is oddly close to the door. It’s a good place overall, but could do with some improvements.

The manager at Charm City Motel made my stay in Bundaberg comfortable and stress-free from the moment I arrived. Her warm welcome and genuine care came through in every interaction. She offered local recommendations, helped with special requests and checked in to make sure everything was right, all with real kindness and professionalism. It’s rare to come across such dedicated service, and I appreciate the effort she puts into making guests feel at home. Charm City Motel is a great choice if you’re staying in Bundaberg. Highly recommended!

Our trip was ruined by this stay, and we’ll never return or recommend the place. The room’s smell was strange at first, then by 3:30 a.m. the septic odour was so strong and sickening that we left early to get away from it. The toilet didn’t work properly and we had to keep fixing it. The shower taps were reversed, so when my child tried to turn the water off, they were scalded instead. That’s a serious health and safety issue. The managers were rude and showed no genuine customer service. This was the worst service I’ve ever had, and I won’t forget it. The room was well below the standard of other places at a similar price. I read other reviews afterwards and can confirm a similar experience. Don’t waste your money, anywhere else would be better.

We left the room exactly as we found it and lost $165.30, which I later saw was more than the advertised price. I consider the rooms dated, filthy and poor value. You need a new cleaner. We’re from Hervey Bay and had a late afternoon appointment with a medical specialist in Bundy, so booked and paid for a twin room for the night. While waiting for the appointment, we put down our bags and looked around. There was years’ worth of dust on the hidden lights above the pillows, as well as dust in corners and elsewhere. It wasn’t clean. After the appointment, we were told we needed to be at a Hervey Day Hospital early the next morning, making an overnight stay difficult. We asked the motel if we could cancel for a refund. They said no because we’d entered the room and it couldn’t be let again until it was cleaned the next day. All we’d done was sit on the bed.
