The hosts showed us around the property, and I especially loved that she shared the history of the house and its original owners with my granddaughters. Breakfast included beautiful produce, and we could also use the herb garden. The place is absolutely amazing, beautifully maintained, and blends period pieces with modern technology. I’ll be back.

The garden is great, and The Duck House has everything you need for a comfortable, cosy stay. It’s within walking distance of the CBD. Highly recommend.

We were spoiled with generous gourmet breakfast provisions and yummy cherries. The healthy vegetable garden was lovely, and The Duck House cottage was charming and cosy. A lovely place to stay, with warm hospitality from wonderful hosts. Thank you very much!

The generous breakfast supplies and access to herbs and vegetables in the garden were real bonuses. It’s also within walking distance of the terrific nightly penguin tours during the season. We found the earlier review from ten years ago to be exactly what we experienced: an excellent place to stay in Burnie, very comfortable, great value, and with lovely hosts.

We visited in May 2024 and found it a wonderful place to stay. The location is ideal, and there’s a great story behind the house. The hosts were so helpful, and I’d recommend it to everyone.
