Hibiscus Regal Apartments

The owners were great to deal with and helped us however they could. The beds were comfy, the units were clean as, and the island mobile phone was handy. These are absolutely awesome apartments, though not top end. We came to see Norfolk Island itself, not the inside of a motel unit. I’d go back, and I’ve booked again for next year.

Kay’s care showed throughout Hibiscus Regal, from the rooms and gardens to the guests and their comfort. I know from cleaning experience that management and cleaners often cut corners, but Kay genuinely takes very good care of everything. My Nan and I stayed for a week and couldn’t have been happier. When Kay realised Nan had very limited mobility, she managed to move us to a room that suited her abilities much better. Thanks so much for helping us experience the beauty of Norfolk Island. The beds and pillows were the most comfortable I’ve slept on, and the women looking after the place were lovely, helpful and worked incredibly hard. The location is handy for walking into town, and the property has plenty of potential. There’s a lot that needs attention, though. The Wi-Fi barely worked, and we had to go out into the yard to find a signal. Doors and sliding windows are dated, a kitchen cupboard kept coming loose, and the gardens and outdoor tables and chairs need maintenance. Some seats had cushions and others didn’t, while the furniture was wobbly and needed tightening and oiling. The old tin exterior could also use an update. A bit of investment would make a real difference. The cleaning staff deserve a pay rise for all their effort. I hope the owners take this as constructive feedback and give the place the care it needs.

We had a lovely week at Hibiscus Regal Apartments on Norfolk Island. The accommodation was faultless, and Hana made us feel so welcome. Hopefully we can come back one day 😀
