Paxton Square Cottages

The cottage was spotless and newly fitted out, with lovely touches; the bed and pillows were just right for a good night's sleep. Booking was easy, and the price felt great for the location and quality. Staff at the caravan park reception, where we picked up the keys, were friendly and helpful, and were open until 8:30pm. We had a wonderful stay and will be back for longer, so we can explore Burra, Manoora, and Sevenhills properly.

We really loved this place, and I'd even like to bring my wider family. Burra was great. The only snag was the TV power point situation: there was just one, so we couldn't hook up our Apple TV. That seemed understandable in an older place. For a couple, the four decent-sized rooms gave us heaps of space. The stone walls looked beautiful and kept sound out well, and there was parking on both sides. It was quiet and only a short walk into town. The kitchen had an electric stove if we wanted to cook. The bed was the most comfortable of our road trip, with a mattress that didn't sink too low, and there were plenty of lounges. This was our favourite accommodation of the trip, even after staying in some premium places.

We only spent one night in Burra, but the place felt gorgeous, intriguing, and a little eerie. Cottage 12 impressed us: it was charming and like having a complete little house to ourselves. The service was very friendly too. Highly recommend!

I was there alone for one work night, and the possibility that the place could be haunted made it even more exciting. The cottage was lovely, clean, neat, and tidy, with everything I needed, and the staff were pleasant and informative. There's a large central grounds area with plenty of grass for a picnic, plus laundry and cooking facilities, a fire pit, and BBQs. I'd stay again and recommend it to anyone travelling through Burra. One-night stays are available now, which works well for a short visit.
