Dinner at the restaurant was excellent, and we spotted a flock of Crimson Rosellas just outside our door. We stayed one quiet night in a nicely updated room. The bed was especially comfortable. The bathroom could use an update, though.

The kids loved that breakfast was free for them, and the conservatory-style glass dining room was lovely. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and the breakfast itself was decent. We had asked for two rooms for two adults and our two toddlers, and got adjoining rooms with a connecting doorway, which made it feel like a roomy suite. The rooms were large, comfortable, and well set up, with a relaxing view over the lawns and lake. Briars Inn is right next door, with good food, a bar, and a kids' play area. For the price, it felt like a bargain, and we'd happily stay again.

We had a great meal with friends, and the service was prompt and friendly. The surprise came when we paid our bar and bistro tabs: both had a weekend surcharge. I don't understand why it was needed, and there was no mention of it when we booked online.

The staff made us feel so welcome and well looked after. Sue & Thea deserve a special mention. Good service like that can be hard to find, and these are some of the best staff around. The location and food were incredible too. ❤️

The peaceful setting and rooms overlooking the pond and running water were lovely, and the beds were comfortable. The bathrooms let the rooms down, though. They're dated, and having to step into a bath for a shower feels like a slipping and liability risk.
