Indigo Blue Beachfront Apartments

The new managers are lovely and easy to deal with, and we’ll definitely return. Our well-equipped apartment had fantastic views from Burleigh to Surfers Paradise. There’s a pool, spa, kids’ wading pool, BBQ area, tennis court and sauna on site.

We’re a family of five and have stayed in a few places on the Gold Coast, but this one’s been our favourite. The view is amazing, the place is clean, the beds are comfy, and we loved the pool, tennis court and BBQ area. The kitchen had everything needed to prepare and cook meals. Looking forward to coming back.

The apartment was comfortable, clean, well equipped and in a handy spot on the Gold Coast. What made the stay distressing was the manager, Tony. From the beginning, he seemed irritated by us and made snide remarks about our arrival. I went by at 12:30 to ask if we could leave our bags before check-in, since the email said the keys would be ready from 13:30. He questioned why we were there so early. When I asked genuine questions, his replies felt impatient and sometimes rude. The rules also felt stricter than anything we’d expect, even on a military base. We were dropped at the visitor car park for just 2-3 minutes and Tony immediately told us not to do that again. After a sports event, we’d been on our feet for over 35 hours and covered more than 96km through the Gold Coast hinterland. A friend briefly dropped us in the garage so we could unload our gear onto a luggage trolley, then drove away. Once we’d taken the bags upstairs, Tony texted me to return the trolleys at once and move the other car or it would be towed. One trolley was already back, and my friend had left some time earlier. I can only imagine how much worse it might have been if we’d stayed longer. I wouldn’t recommend this Airbnb. The accommodation itself had good points, but the manager’s conduct overshadowed them. We felt like a nuisance instead of guests.

My family and I won’t be coming back. I’ve seen plenty of reviews here and on Booking.com describing the same problem with this hotel. Tony, the manager, was the rudest person I’ve dealt with at a hotel. He showed no interest or ability in treating customers respectfully. There are better places nearby, with better facilities and much better staff, so I’d tell anyone considering this one to look elsewhere.
