We’ve stayed here seven times and love it. Carol and Dick are fantastic hosts who take care of whatever you might need. The place is comfortable and, even more importantly, clean. Shops and a pub are close by, and the lovely beach is just a short stroll away. For us, it’s one of the best places to stay in Trinity Beach, and we wouldn’t stay anywhere else in Cairns.

My wife and I live in New Zealand and have stayed at Castaways for years to shorten our winter. We’ll be back again this year. Dick and Carol are delightful hosts, friendly, helpful and always willing to assist. The units we use are consistently clean and have everything we need for an enjoyable stay. If you’re thinking of staying at Trinity Beach, I’d suggest looking at the Castaways units before booking elsewhere. It’s across the road from the bus stop, within easy walking distance of the main shopping centre, and close to the beach, hotel, bottle store, eateries and coffee places.

It’s good value, quiet and handy for the shops, buses and beach. The cane lounge chairs in the sitting room were rather uncomfortable, though they might suit someone with a different shape. Also, the neighbours next door, 314, smoked dope on their balcony every night, which was a bit off-putting.
