City Terraces Cairns

We used this as a base for a family holiday in Cairns and had two two-bedroom apartments. They were incredibly spacious, with two bathrooms each, plus lounge, dining, and outdoor furniture. Having a washing machine, dryer, clothes airer, plenty of towels, and pool towels we could wash and dry was a big plus. The pool was lovely, with BBQ facilities, and the balcony was nice. I also liked the foyer shelf for shared books, clothes, and unwanted condiments, a good way to reuse things instead of throwing them out. The beds were a bit tired, and newer fluffy pillows would have been great. An extra blanket or two might help, as it sometimes got cold at night. Our main gripe was attention to detail: management didn’t know that one bathroom still had an ancient wall hair dryer that didn’t work, and the garbage lid, dustpan, and brush were broken. The in-room compendium and the website’s cable TV information were also outdated. None of it was huge, and some things were fixed when we asked, but it felt like managers weren’t inspecting the rooms often enough. I’d stay again for the big rooms, lovely pool, and good location.

We felt relaxed and at home from the minute we arrived. Over three weeks exploring Cairns and the surrounding area, we loved the location, facilities, and charming staff. They were patient and helpful throughout. The pool was brilliant for exercise and cooling off. I’d recommend staying here and would definitely come back.

Will and Lyn were terrific hosts during our week there, always friendly and smiling. They did an amazing job arranging and planning all our day trips. The accommodation was clean, comfortable, and spacious, and I’ve been recommending it to friends. We’ll return when we’re next in Cairns. You won’t regret it!

Will was fantastic, and I could honestly stay here again. It was just as good as, if not better than, the Mantra. The apartment was unserviced, but we had plenty of towels, including pool towels. It’s walking distance to town, quiet, and has a pool. The place is very eco-friendly and sustainable, which I loved. Just keep in mind there are no lifts when you book. It isn’t the Hilton or Hyatt.
