Park Regis City Quays

A good place to get a restful night, especially if you want to be near the river in Cairns. The room was comfortable and clean, the staff were helpful and friendly, and the rooftop pool was lovely for cooling off on a hot day. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend it if you need a bed for the night.

I was there for my honeymoon, but after one night we left for another place because the conditions were so poor. At checkout they told us the unused nights would be refunded, and now they’re refusing to return our money. This is an aparthotel, not a four-star hotel. It felt like a scam. If you want a nice place and a good experience in Cairns, don’t go here.

We were meant to stay three nights, but the experience was bad enough that we had to change hotels. The rooms were dirty, and this is a poorly maintained aparthotel, not a four-star hotel. I also didn’t feel safe leaving our belongings there because the door wouldn’t lock from outside. The “breakfast included” offer was misleading too. There’s no dining room. They gave us a stamp and sent us to a Restaurante about a 10-minute walk away, where we still had to pay for breakfast. Before leaving, I wanted to make a written complaint. They asked me not to and promised to refund the nights we wouldn’t be using. They never did, and after several follow-ups they still refuse to refund me. Don’t stay here if you go to Cairns.

We’d stayed here before, and it’s a great property in a good location. This time my husband and I came for one night for my birthday. The room was clean, comfortable and spacious, and the service was friendly. We paid $15 for overnight parking under the apartments, and it worked well for us. We also had vouchers for breakfast at the chambers, and enjoyed a lovely Sunday breakfast.
