Whitfield house is back as a wedding venue, which I’m glad to see. It’s in the Botanic gardens and was once a popular place for weddings, but after changing ownership sometime between 2014 and 2016 it seemed to stop hosting them. We held our wedding there in April 2017 and found it worked extremely well. I’ve written a longer review on their facebook page, and would definitely recommend it to others.

At 9:20am on 20/1/18, I spoke with the man who says he’s the manager, and the experience was disgusting and unprofessional. He wouldn’t let me, my fiancé and our 10-month-old son view the premises that day. He seemed to expect us to book the wedding by email before seeing the place, and said the website photos were there for anyone wanting to look. I guess they don’t want to look after locals or anyone else. I’m asking someone above this so-called manager to call me so we can discuss it. Today’s service deserves no stars.
