Peppers Gallery Hotel Canberra

We came to Peppers for our wedding anniversary. The room was spacious and clean, and the location made it easy to get into the city while still being really quiet. Staff were welcoming and efficient whenever we needed them. Would suit a weekend away or a longer holiday.

The heritage building is a bit of a rabbit warren, with corridors, levels and room numbers that don’t always seem to line up. If stairs won’t work for you, with or without luggage, make sure to tell them. My room itself was nicely set up, bright, and had a spacious bathroom. Staff were friendly and accommodating, and service in both the bar and restaurant was great. There are also some good sustainability options. I’d recommend staying here.

A comfortable bed matters a lot to me, and this one was good. The hotel was clean and well located, and Yash and Udea were especially professional, friendly and helpful. The restaurant was closed for construction, and the cafe was also shut over the weekend even though we’d booked à la carte. They shouldn’t have offered breakfast on that basis. Yash did help by making me a special hot drink, which was enough to get my day started. Thank you!

The only part of this stay that worked well was reception. The staff there were genuinely friendly and helped a lot when I realised I’d left something behind. I won’t be back. The hotel feels worn out and badly in need of refurbishment, and the restaurant was disappointing too. When I ordered orange juice, I couldn’t see the buffet because it was behind a wall. The manager just pointed vaguely toward it instead of explaining it was self-serve. Then a couple arrived, and he offered them juice, went over and got it for them himself. I didn’t mind fetching my own drink, but the difference in treatment was hard to miss. He also rolled his eyes when I showed my Accor Explorer card and acted as if my membership was a nuisance. That was unprofessional.
