The Cove Kettering

We really enjoyed the rooms, which were spacious, clean and modern, and made our five night stay comfortable. The staff were very courteous and efficient. There are good walks nearby, and it was easy to get to Cygnet for the folk festival or to the Bruny ferry. Highly recommend staying here.

A comfortable room for unwinding, with a private deck overlooking the water that had us relaxing straight away. The room was clean and quite comfortable, and the staff at breakfast were lovely and happy to make coffee. Breakfast itself was good. It’s a handy spot in Kettering for the Bruny Island ferry and the coast road. We couldn’t get into the guest lounge, where breakfast is served, unless a staff member was there to let us in, so we only had access in the morning. I also felt a little uneasy about the clear shower glass, with the upstairs residence windows in view. Luckily nobody was there, so we could shower without worrying. Rooms aren’t serviced, but you can ask staff in the morning for fresh towels, more milk or anything else you need. There isn’t much in Kettering, so stop at Snug on the way for the IGA and bottle shop. Cheeseboards work well for a holiday. The local pub is okay, though it doesn’t offer much for vegetarians.

The views over the bay from the balcony are lovely, with the sun coming through the big windows and boats below to watch. Room 3 was roomy and had what I needed for a comfortable stay, and the bathroom felt luxurious, especially with its heated floor and the supplied body wash, shampoo and conditioner. The two minibar wines, one red and one white, cost $30 and are paid for by QR code. I could walk easily to the coffee shops, marina and ferry terminal. The bed was very soft and offered little support, though, and after three nights my back was getting sore. I could also hear noise from the accommodation above early in the morning. I’d recommend staying here if a soft bed suits you, but maybe not if you have back problems.

The communal space is well equipped, and breakfast is included. There are spacious units with heated floors, plus a BBQ and sun decks with great marina views. It’s also close to the Bruny ferry.
