Tall Trees Ainslie Motel

The room had plenty of space, balcony included, and the staff were really friendly. I had a good stay at Tall Trees Ainslie Motel. The room seemed clean, though it didn't feel completely spotless to me. The furniture is a bit dated, but that didn't bother me.

I was hoping to get some sleep, but the room near reception made that difficult. Guests kept slamming the side door late at night, and a family stayed in the foyer until midnight with excited, chatty kids whose voices carried down the halls. Then the fire alarm went off and we had to wait outside in our nightclothes until the firefighters said it was safe to return. It was apparently an upgrade, but I would have preferred any other room. The room itself was clean, and the staff were friendly. Still, the bathroom tap dripped, and the curtains let in too much light. I hadn't expected much from this inexpensive Ibis in Canberra, but this wasn't a restful getaway. If sleeping matters to you, I'd look elsewhere.

A noisy fridge in the room next door kept waking me up. Since the office was closed for Easter, I couldn't get hold of reception to let them know. Apart from that, I enjoyed staying at this lovely motel in Ainslie. It's a little dated, though the owners are refreshing it now. Thanks!

We were in Canberra for a cricket match at Manuka oval and stayed one night. Our Large Family Room had a queen bed, bunk beds and a single bed, so it suited our needs. We called ahead because we expected to arrive late, and the staff gave us a lock-box code for after-hours check-in. It was easy to use. The room was spacious and clean, though the carpets and general upkeep looked tired and dated. Everything worked, including the toilets and hot and cold water, and there was tea, coffee and a mini bar fridge. Parking was plentiful and felt safe. The place could use an uplift, but it worked well for our trip.
