There are lovely places around the property to sit and take in the rainforest, including seats by a private creek. We could easily have spent our whole getaway here without going anywhere, though restaurants, cafes, and the beach are only a short walk away. Our cabin was beautifully clean, with its own outdoor kitchen and bathroom looking out over the forest. A private path led to a table, chairs, and a sculpture beneath the canopy. It felt hard to be more immersed in such a beautiful setting. Gaye gave us a really warm, friendly welcome and showed us around.

The morning birdsong was beautiful, and our three nights in the jungle treehouse were such a treat. For an open-air room it was very clean, with no bugs apart from the occasional moth. What a unique, amazing place. If you're coming to Cape Tribulation, I'd highly recommend staying here. It's magical.

My family surprised me with two nights here for my birthday, and I loved how unusual the place was. I grew up in the bush, so the visiting critters, or the possibility of them, didn't bother us. There are no windows, but no mozzies either, and the birdsong in the morning was gorgeous. The hammocks were fun, though getting in and out with a glass of wine was a challenge. We watched a scrub turkey from the shower, drank the lovely creek water, and had a laugh on the sculpture walk. The new hosts, Gaye and Leigh, are lovely and have lots of ideas for the place. Thanks, and I appreciate the effort it must take to carry laundry along that path!

The jungle hut was much bigger and nicer in person, and the camp kitchen has everything you need. We kept seeing a scrub turkey and nicknamed him Nigel. Don't miss the Sculpture Trail, and take a picnic down to the beautiful creek. This is a magical little spot in the rainforest, close to a great cafe, snorkeling tours, and the wood fired pizza place around the corner.

The Queen bungalow was simple, basically just a bed and power socket, but spacious enough for the two of us and I loved it. A few metres away, the common area had a great veranda with a hammock, perfect for hanging out and having a few drinks in the evening. Rob was a great host. His bushwalk trail around the property is well worth following, and the creek, BBQ, and bar area he's made in the bush were awesome. The bathroom and shower are outside, and it's one of the coolest bathrooms I've seen. If you're scared of the dark or bush noises, it might not suit you, but I loved it. This was easily my favourite part of the trip to Cairns, and I wish I'd spent less time in Cairns and more here. I'll definitely come back, and the Yurt looks like a must try.
