The kids loved roaming around the creek, the old gold diggings and Kiandra. We stayed at Wolgal Hut in spring a few years back, five adults and two children. The lodge was clean and really comfortable. I'd happily recommend it.
We had a very comfortable stay, especially the beds, and the big fireplace made the shared kitchen, dining and lounge area a lovely place to gather. Mt Selwyn and Yarangobilli Caves are nearby. It's a beautiful spot far from everything, with gas for cooking, heating and hot water, plus solar and generator power for lighting. There’s no internet, phone or mobile reception. Great for families.
A great free camping spot, though you can only get in on foot.
