I had a very bad experience at this motel and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone with a child with severe autism. My nonverbal autistic daughter, jakoda, has level 3 autism. I won’t let people disrespect her. Janelle and her partner were very rude because I couldn’t control her. Holding her to make her stop misbehaving would have been assault, and she can’t understand right and wrong in the same way. I also have an intellectual disability, so my state of mind is a little younger than my age, and I suffer from depression, which makes it harder to stay motivated and reach goals. They kicked us out. While I was collecting our things, the husband kept telling me to hurry up and get out. That felt abusive and intimidating. I’m sorry I left the motel room messy, but imagine having to stay up all night watching your daughter’s every move because you can’t sleep until you know she’s asleep. People need to show empathy and understand what it’s like to have an autistic daughter.

At $190 a night, this place is way overpriced. A 1970s three-star room without a microwave might be okay, but the price should reflect that. $120 would have been reasonable.

I got a really miserable welcome when I arrived for my late-night booking. The older man who served me seemed moody and extremely unhappy. If they take late bookings, they shouldn’t be annoyed when someone shows up late.

The room was clean, the basics were there, and the bed was comfortable. That’s about the best I can say. The kettle was brown-stained inside, and the air conditioning played up whenever we tried to change the temperature. Their website says there’s a restaurant and room service, but a sign on the restaurant door says it’s permanently closed, so the site hasn’t been updated. The man at the counter was nice, but I was left waiting while he finished chatting with another guest about their day. I’d choose somewhere else next time.

It was easy to find and the location was good. The room had decent space, though it was dated, with broken toilet buttons, a cracked seat and a towel rack hanging off the wall. The air conditioning, lights and bed were all good. Parking was cramped and uncovered.
