Mai Tai Resort

Andre' was a great host, making sure I had what I needed and sharing plenty of ideas for exploring nearby. I especially liked the Australian Chocolate Farm, a good spot for a quiet lunch with some of the best chocolate I've had, and Shannonvale Tropical Fruit Winery, where you can taste wine and buy bottles. Both are close by. I'll definitely stay at the Mai Tai next time I'm in Queensland. I spent four relaxing days there in mid-December 2025. From its high spot in the rainforest hills, the resort looks over the valley and Coral Sea. I enjoyed breakfast on the veranda, with cereals, breads, jellies, local fruit, and healthy, light choices. As a coffee drinker, I was particularly glad to have French Pressed coffee each morning. My Hibiscus Room faced the rear and was quiet and secluded. The Balinese style carries through the buildings, and the furnishings are directly from Bali. Having visited Bali, I appreciated how authentic the decor felt.

The Kerrigan family was charmed by the peaceful setting and spectacular views at Mai Tai. We stayed six nights, and the delicious breakfast and distinctive decor added to the experience. Andre is a thoughtful host who provides what you need for a comfortable stay. It's tucked away from the main towns, but Mossman and PD are easy to reach for restaurants and shopping. If, like us, big corporate hotels aren't your thing, Mai Tai and Andre's hospitality make for a lovely retreat from the bustle of Port Douglas.

The pool was a favorite, and we mostly had it to ourselves while we were there. It's an easy drive to Port Douglas and Mossman, too. We found the resort homey and very peaceful, with beautiful rooms and stunning views. André was a wonderful host, and breakfast was included, generous, and had lots to choose from. Thanks for making our stay so special, André!

The rainforest surroundings made the stay feel peaceful and relaxing, while Mossman and Port Douglas were still conveniently close. Breakfast was delicious, with local fruits, and the host, Andre, was fantastic. We had a wonderful stay and would definitely come back.
