Ceduna East West Motel

The pool was the main reason for my two-star rating. It didn't look properly maintained, and insects and wasps were swimming in it, as shown in the video. The rooms are kept up reasonably well, though mine was small. It seemed fine for a couple, but the bed wobbled so much that even sitting on it made it move around. There's an Indian restaurant at the hotel, open only from 5 to 9, and an OTR nearby, which is handy. Otherwise, there's not much around. It's on McKenzie Street in Ceduna, almost a nine-hour drive from Adelaide. I had a good stay overall, and it's an inexpensive place to stop if you're driving to Ceduna. I hope they improve the pool and service.

There's plenty of parking, including a grassy area where larger vehicles can park. The washing machine worked, but the dryer didn't. Still, the place is old and run down, and it needs updating as well as a deep clean. My room wasn't clean after the previous guests, with dirt left in the shower. It didn't look much like the photos online. I'd avoid it unless the price is low or you're desperate.

The photos gave me a very misleading impression, and I wish I'd looked into the place more before booking. The rooms felt damp and unpleasant, and the whole place had a horrible atmosphere. It was noisy, and the staff weren't friendly. The restaurant offered Indian food only, with no other choices. It was overpriced, too. I'd spend a little more for somewhere reputable with food options that suit everyone, where I wouldn't have to worry about hygiene or health.

We arrived after hours, and the room was clean with really good water pressure. The rooms are a bit dated, but everything was tidy. There's a pool, plus a TV, small fridge and microwave in the room. Not a bad place for an overnight stop.
