Cervantes Lodge

The room was ready when we were due to arrive, and the staff were friendly. It’s a short walk to the beach, with plenty of dedicated parking right outside. The lodge and room have a tasteful modern coastal look in neutral colors. We slept well in a very comfy bed with lots of pillows, and the clean, modern bathroom had good shower pressure. There’s also a shared kitchen and lounge, though we didn’t use them. I’d stay again if I’m in the area.

The kitchen was well equipped with most of what you’d need to cook a meal, and the shared bathrooms were clean with toiletries in the showers. Our room was comfortable and had a large ceiling fan. There seemed to be quite a few long-term residents, overseas workers, who weren’t very friendly or interested in chatting, so the kitchen didn’t feel especially welcoming.

The lodge itself and our room were nice, but it’s split between guest rooms and staff accommodation for the Lobster shack. Loud music and people smoking weed outside spoiled the atmosphere, and the picnic table lights only worked on a sensor that we couldn’t keep on. Arriving to find no staff, just key envelopes and instructions, felt odd. The fan in our room also gave us trouble, and there was nobody at checkout to tell about it. I’m not sure I’d recommend the place unless you’re a group of young travelers.

It was a quiet, well located place, with a clean and comfortable room and a roomy en suite. The bed was really comfortable, but there was nowhere to hang clothes, so our cases ended up on the spare bed. The walls are thin, and guests in the shower room across from us woke us at 5:30 in the morning.
