Ingenia Holidays Hunter Valley

We were a group of 23, spread across cabins, camping and caravans, and spent a long weekend here in 40-degree heat. The two pools were fantastic. We stayed in spacious, comfortable cabin 102, and the staff were lovely and helpful. The poolside sausage sizzle and pool games for Aussie day were great. We had a brilliant weekend.

The staff were the real bright spot. They were lovely, and one staff member noticed our towels hanging up and brought fresh ones without being asked. At the front desk, I got candy canes and my dog got treats, which made both of us very happy. The place has a nice feel and two pools, handy since there aren’t beaches nearby. We booked a budget cabin at a great last-minute price, and it was puppy-friendly. It definitely lives up to the budget label. From outside it looks cute, but inside the paint job looks like someone covered everything in undercoat and then got carried away. There was paint everywhere, and I reckon my chihuahua could have done a neater job with a tiny roller. The kitchen paint wasn’t a deal breaker. The bathroom is the serious problem. There’s no shower guard or drainage outside the shower, so using it leaves the whole floor slippery. I nearly fell, which was especially worrying while pregnant. It feels risky and needs fixing before someone gets hurt. Great staff and facilities, but please sort out that bathroom before someone needs a life alert.

Whenever work takes me travelling, I choose Ingenia parks when I can because they’re always clean, comfortable and spacious. I bring my little dog, and Hunter Ingenia had a lovely big, soft, clean bed and a bowl ready for her. Thank you for thinking about her comfort as well as mine!

Our three young kids were delighted that the car broke down, which says a lot about their stay at Cessnock Ingenia. We’d come by unexpectedly yesterday on our way to Tamworth, and the park could fit us in for one night during school holidays, which was fair enough. When the car still wasn’t ready at checkout, grounds keeper Brad towed us to the back. Staff gave us codes and access to the amenities while we waited, and were incredibly helpful, friendly and accommodating. Cessnock Toyota was amazing too. The pools, amenities, jumping pillow and adjoining Cafe were clean and new. We’ll definitely come back. Thanks again, everyone at Cessnock Ingenia!
