Childers Oasis Motel

The pool was great, private and shady, just right for a dip after a few hours on the road. The owner was friendly and relaxed. Rooms are centrally located, clean, modern and quiet, within walking distance of everything on the town’s Main Street. Excellent in-room facilities, a clean and spacious bathroom, and a very comfy, firm bed. Highly recommended.

Don’t be put off by the outside. Room 10 was a great little place for one night, updated in a modern style and with everything needed. It was comfortable and quiet. I’d recommend the room we stayed in.

Everyone we talked to in this small town was really nice, and the locals were friendly. It feels like people take pride in the town. The pubs close at 12am, and when we were there everyone inside was gathered around one table, having a drink and a laugh. I didn’t see kids roaming the streets like you do in bigger communities. There were maybe one or two cigarette butts on the ground, but not piles, and that’s from cars passing through. If you’re passing through, stop at the Grand hotel for a feed and a drink. The motel itself was a great stop for me and my family while travelling through, and the price was good for a single mum. The owners were very accommodating and check-in was quick and easy. You can pay cash or card at reception, and it’s just a hop, skip and a jump to a pub meal and a go on the pokies. Our family room was well laid out, with a bunk bed, Queen bed, bathroom and little kitchenette. There’s also a main community kitchen with everything you might need if you want to really cook, plus a BBQ overlooking the swimming pool. We’ll definitely be back, and stay longer.

Chad & Jo were so welcoming and friendly, and our room was modern, clean and had great amenities. Pubs and restaurants are all within walking distance. We were just passing through for one night and called at the last minute, but they took us in without any fuss. We’ll definitely pull in again.
