The motel sits just off the main road, and we barely heard any traffic. There are different kinds of rooms, so comfort will depend on which one you get. Some allow pets, and ours had a microwave and kettle. Air conditioning and ceiling fans are available in some rooms, a welcome thing in the hotter summer months.

The restaurant was being renovated, but we could still grab a drink at the bar and order pizza, which was great. The motel was clean, spacious and pet friendly, and the staff were friendly and very helpful.

The motel's restaurant, Grinners Pizza & Pasta, made a very good pizza for our first night. On the second, we got takeaway from the Post Office Hotel, and that meal was beautiful. There are three hotels within walking distance. We spent two lovely nights at the 'Wagon Wheel Motel'. It's basic, very clean and dog friendly, and our roomy, comfortable room #17 was clean too. It had tea and coffee facilities, a microwave and reverse cycle air conditioning. Reception can provide a toaster if you need one. There aren't cooking facilities in the room, but that was fine. A great spot to stay while exploring Cloncurry.

Being able to park right outside was really convenient, and the room was comfortable and clean. We arrived late at night, and the owner was very accommodating.

The Parma was delicious, and the chips and salad were spot on. The cleaning lady was really nice and welcoming, as were the other staff. We stayed one night at this small outback hotel and were very impressed. The rooms are old, but clearly well looked after. Hope our company puts us up here again next time we're in town. Thanks heaps for the bed and the great food.
