I had to stay here in emergency accommodation, and I'm grateful for any help, but opening the door to hundreds of cockroaches across the floors, beds, bathrooms and cupboards was awful. There was rubbish everywhere, and the place looked like a complete dump. Half the rooms had bed bugs. The staff were so unprofessional. The manager sleeps with clients, and an old client now lives there with him; her son is sleeping with clients too. It probably needs to be burnt to the ground.

The rooms are good and reasonably priced. Darren was lovely and made sure I knew I'd be safe and secure at 40 weeks pregnant. He gave me all the information I needed to feel comfortable.

The self-contained rooms are spacious and very clean, and the service is friendly. For a budget-friendly rate, you also get extras like a gym, pool and laundry. It's just a short walk to the Rising Sun complex and is totally family friendly. 10/10.

Friendly staff were always ready to help during our three nights here. The rooms were large, clean and affordable, with a kitchen stocked with utensils, a microwave and a fridge. The toilets were clean and spacious too. We had a wonderful stay at coolabah motel and would definitely come back.

Townsville was booked out because of a Cowboys game, and after driving down from Cairns that morning for the kids' soccer event, we had to head straight back home. I'd booked and paid through the Coolabah Website, but on arrival they said it was a booking.com reservation and they had no record of it. I showed the owner the booking and proved it came through the motel's webpage. He was extremely rude, said he didn't care, claimed they had no room and refused to refund my credit card. I've never had anything like this happen before and can't recommend this motel. I'm trying to keep the emotion out of this review because what I'd really like to type would probably be removed by Google.
