Oonoonba Hotel Motel

The meals were generous, and the jerk chicken and crumbed chicken were juicy and cooked really well. The rice and beans didn’t seem to have any seasoning, and the fried rice was fine but didn’t have much flavour. The katsu sauce was delicious, though they only gave a little drizzle on the crumbed chicken. It’s good for a pub feed. The new restaurant has a nice atmosphere, and everything’s new and clean. There’s a huge menu with lots of variety. We’ll come back and try more.

The kids’ area at the Fairfield, formerly the Oonoomba pub, was great. We could see the kids from where we sat, and the seating was comfy. The place looks freshly renovated and has a nice atmosphere. Our food came promptly and was yummy. Good prices and lots to choose from. We’ll be back.

The pork belly was cooked well, as was the steak, but that couldn’t make up for a very disappointing visit to the new Fairfield restaurant at Oonoonba hotel. We waited 10 minutes to be seated, then 1 1/4 hours for the food. The apology was very half-hearted, given while he walked away after putting down our meals. The mashed pumpkin and apple side were cold and inedible, and the creamy garlic sauce was coagulated and tasteless.

Everything was hot, delicious and cooked perfectly, and good value for money. It was very busy, but that says something about how good the place is. I’ll be back 😊
