Vale Hotel

The location was great, with shops a short walk away, several fuel stations nearby, and a pub across the road where the food was good. We felt safe, and the other guests were friendly. Reception staff and cleaners were helpful and friendly, doing their best to sort out anything we needed. The rooms can be cleaned and refreshed daily if you want. We had a wonderful stay and would come back.

Jimmy and his team delivered the kind of old school hospitality that's becoming rare. From the counter through to the bistro, the service was smooth, friendly, proactive, and consistent. The bistro and gaming floor both reflected that same standard. Jimmy's accountability, reliability, and attention to service make the Vale Hotel feel like a real community asset, not just another hotel. This is hospitality done right. I stopped at the Vale Hotel while travelling through Townsville for work, and wanted to recognise the excellent leadership and service. Well done to Jimmy and the Vale Hotel team. Bit embarrassing, since I brought mates along. I rang first to check the 30% off meals deal was still on for Monday, and was told it was. Then when we paid, they said it wasn't available. The vale hotel is my local, so that's a pretty weak effort. Hope the steak was good.

The staff are great, and the room is ok for the price. It's far enough from the vale pub that noise wasn't an issue, and there's secure parking on site. Just note the covered walkways have a 2m height limit. There was no key return box, so I have no idea if they found my key.
