Coolum Waves Pet Friendly Holiday House

The pool was amazing, and the holiday itself was lovely, but the house really wasn’t worth what we paid. Renovations next door meant banging and sawing woke us in the morning and carried on through the day while we were trying to relax by the pool. That wasn’t the owner’s fault, of course. The oven was greasy when we arrived. It took two days of soaking and oven cleaner to shift it. I told the owner and got an apology, which I suppose was fine, but the two days show how bad it was. The oven was tiny for a place meant to accommodate that many people. Tiles were cracked throughout, with grout missing in several spots. We found dead cockroaches each morning and saw several running around at night. There was mould on the blinds, and under the beds and the broken recliner was shocking. In the main bedroom there was thick dust and spiderwebs on the windowsill, and spiders all through the house on the architraves and ceiling. The house had been vacuumed and the visible areas mopped before we arrived, so it smelled of bleach and looked clean at first, but it needed a proper end-of-rental clean. I couldn’t fully relax, with my OCD kicking in. I didn’t see why I should have to pull everything out and clean a house we’d paid a lot of money for, and I felt ripped off every day. The feedback book also had lots of pages ripped out. Our poor dog got fleas while we were there, the second time in her life. The first time was at a holiday home too. We’ve used this company for four previous holidays, and this house let them down. We have one more of their homes to stay at, and then we’ll have stayed at all of them.

The house had everything we needed, and being able to bring our dog was a huge bonus. It’s well placed for walking to the beach, Coles, Woolworths and all the great coffee shops and cafes. Ashlee was really lovely to deal with. We’ll definitely book a holiday here again.
