Oceanic Apartments

The location was great, but we only booked because there were few places left that weekend, and this was just somewhere to sleep. The apartments need serious maintenance. Ours had water damage, peeling paint and doors that wouldn’t shut. The walls showed obvious wear, and my bedroom’s sliding door was dirty with cobwebs. I only noticed the mould stains on the bedsheets as we were leaving. The lock was fiddly too, sometimes opening easily and sometimes taking ages. Check-in was frustrating because we didn’t find out until we reached the gate that it was at another location. The driveway was difficult to reverse out of.

The location was spot on, and the apartment was clean, though very basic and without a view. The pillows were terrible. Check-in was messy, as we had to go to another location and the address hadn’t been given clearly, but check-out was easy.

The room had plenty of space, and the bathroom and bedding were excellent. The location was great too. The check-in was needlessly complicated, though, since we had to collect the key from a lockbox somewhere else. Carpets and furniture had quite a few stains.

We paid $2,000 for four nights as a family, and at $500 a night I expected at least enough hot water for everyone. After coming back from the beach, there were only about five minutes of hot water, so the rest of us had cold showers. The kitchen had plates but no bowls, and pots but no pans for cooking. The carpet and furniture were stained as well. You’re paying for the location here, not the quality, and I don’t think I’d return.
