The location was excellent, the vibe quaint, and check-in and checkout were easy. The sheets and towels were perfectly fine, and the full king bed was surprisingly comfortable, not two singles pushed together. But for $500 a night, the accommodation had issues I wouldn’t have expected. I shared the details directly with the providers. They said they would have tried to address the concerns promptly if they’d known during my stay. I’m sure they meant well, but it felt somewhat like victim blaming. I was only there for 42 hours, preparing for a wedding, and didn’t want to spend my time reporting issues that shouldn’t have been there and arranging repairs, especially to a bathroom on a Saturday. The shower head was broken and gave a poor spray. Using it as instructed, hot only, caused a loud, grating pipe noise that made it uncomfortable to use and listen to. A piece of the shower tap also fell off, though it was screwed back on. The apartment was tidy, but perhaps hadn’t been used recently and had only had a light clean or airing before we arrived. There were visible crumbs in the lounge, dust, water marks on the bathroom tiles, probably from the broken shower head spraying, mould in the dishwasher drawer, and a large dead spider that likely fell from the top of the door when it was closed. The dishwasher flashed an error and wouldn’t run when we started it as the checkout instructions said; I told staff when handing in the keys. I would recommend this accommodation, just not for the price we paid.

We spent a fantastic summer here with our family and another family in a different cabin. The highland surroundings are beautiful, with kangaroos, birds, deer, and frogs around. There’s great cycling and mountain biking nearby, plus a superb restaurant and a beer garden with schnapps tasting within walking distance.

We came with a large family group and stayed in a few cabins. It made for a great nature retreat, with spacious cabins, good bathrooms and kitchens, and a guided nature walk. I love the commitment to sustainability and eco initiatives. Our family enjoyed waking up to the resident roos and birds, then grilling in the evening. It’s well located for getting to Kosciuszko National Park. We visited in late summer and got some colder temperatures. The heating only works in winter, which I understand from an environmental perspective, but pack warm socks and layers, as our feet got cold. It would’ve been nice to have the option to turn on the fire. Also, be ready for ants and keep your food secure.

We spent Easter weekend here as a family, two adults and two kids aged 4 and 7, and thoroughly enjoyed it. The cabins were comfortable and well equipped, and there’s a short walking track around the property with plenty of animals to spot, including deer, kangaroos, and rabbits. The surroundings were perfect. There were a couple of small drawbacks: the cabin could’ve been cleaner on arrival, as some wall or ceiling insulation seemed to have fallen onto the floor. In cabin 5, we could hear the nearby road a bit too much in the afternoon for my liking, though there was no noise at night, and the beds were great for sleeping.

Our 5-year-old was the main reason for this family trip, and staying here worked out really well. The place was spacious, clean, well equipped and looked after, with high ceilings, big windows and heated floors. We had everything we needed apart from an in-room washer and dryer. Phone reception and internet were great 👍. Woolworth supermarket and several well-rated cafes are about 11 minutes away. Bring DVDs if you expect to spend time indoors.
