Cradle Mountain Hotel

We were genuinely sad to leave on our last day, and even thought about extending our stay. The place felt comfortable and happy, and I left the team a handwritten thank-you note before we went. We’ll definitely come back. Everything was neat, warm, and thoughtfully managed, from the service and food to the atmosphere. Every staff member we met was humble, kind, and welcoming. Breakfast each morning was fresh and delicious, and the restaurant was one of the highlights of our trip. You can feel the care and quality in what they do. We also loved the “Go Green” option: leave the card outside if you don’t want room cleaning that day and receive a $10 voucher. Such a thoughtful eco-friendly idea. Dinner at Altitude Restaurant + Lounge Bar was a highlight, especially the fish and pork belly, both outstanding. The breakfast buffet had lots of fresh, tasty choices, and we especially enjoyed the smoked salmon, yogurt, and honey. The fireplace and warm atmosphere made it easy to relax, and all the staff were kind and welcoming. We spent two nights at Cradle Mountain Hotel, and the location, rooms, service, and dining all exceeded what we expected. It was the highlight of our two-week Tasmania trip and left us with unforgettable memories. We’d happily recommend it and would love to return.

The helpful, friendly staff made the stay even better, and we might have seen some wild animals if we’d been lucky. The restaurant exceeded my expectations with a good breakfast and delicious dinner, especially considering the hotel is inside the nation park area. It’s only a 2 minute drive from the cradle mountain visitor center. I really enjoyed staying here, and every penny felt worth it.

The free laundry was a lifesaver for drying our damp hiking clothes after the rain and snow, and breakfast was great both mornings. We also enjoyed excellent dinners. Staff were welcoming throughout, and the receptionist took time at check-in to explain the amenities, the area, and things to do in the national park. Our room was very clean and the temperature was just right for us. Friends in another room found theirs noticeably warmer. The bed was too soft for my taste, though, so I didn’t sleep especially well over the two nights. We stayed May 6th and 7th and were lucky to get surprise snow on the 7th. We had fantastic walks both days and saw two completely different, beautiful views of Cradle Mountain. A great base for the park, and we’ll stay again.
