The pool was lovely and huge, and since the hotel wasn’t full it was easy to find a sunbed. Breakfast was great, the food was good value, and I liked being able to skip room cleaning for an AUD20 daily discount. The staff were very welcoming, and I’d stay again because they were lovely and the pool was superb. There were problems with my room, though. I woke in the middle of the night to find the floor soaked. Reception said at 8am they’d look into it and move me if it was still wet when I got back from my trip. It was still wet, and the patio doors wouldn’t open, so they changed my room. My clothes had been in the damp room all day and felt wet too. I was surprised there was no upgrade offered for the defective room, and there wasn’t really an apology about my damp clothes. Room service was hit and miss as well. There was no table in my room, so I expected a tray, and there was no cutlery either. I had to ask for it. Piet Douglas is quite a way away, but the shuttle is easy to get and costs AUD15 each way.

What really stood out at the Sea Temple was how friendly every staff member we met was. We felt valued throughout our stay. The pool was magnificent and clean, and although the rooms were clean, they felt a little dated. Breakfast at the restaurant was very good. We skipped dinner there because the menu was limited and we found better options in Port Douglas. All in all, a great experience for a reasonable price.

The lagoon pool is perfect for long days swimming, laughing, and relaxing, which is a big part of why this is one of our favourite places to stay. Even in the quiet season, we could still order poolside and have it delivered. We did miss the pool bar, though, as it was closed during our latest visit.

We weren’t staying at this resort, but stopped by to check it out while we were in the area. I rarely write reviews unless I truly think a place deserves more than five stars. We felt so welcome. Sofia won us over at breakfast, and she was lovely both personally and as a Pullman representative. She showed us around the resort and the different rooms, and we’re now sure our next Port Douglas holiday will be at the Pullman. Her smile and charm also brought us back for dinner. Daniela gave us the same warm, homely restaurant experience, and we were genuinely sad to leave and return to our own resort. Both of them, along with the support staff, have made the Pullman our clear choice for when we come back. Well done, team!

Had a fabulous meal tonight at the lagoon Restaurant. The service was excellent, and Daniela explained the menu really well. We had the Thai style Nannygia fish for two, and the wine, dead man walking, went beautifully with it. We’ll definitely be back soon.
