Adina Apartment Hotel Darwin Waterfront

We’ve come back several times, and it’s been a great stay every time. The rooms are comfortable, clean, and have what you need, while the staff are warm and welcoming. The buffet breakfast is delicious too. Highly recommend!

There are plenty of places to eat and get drinks right outside, yet the hotel stays very quiet. That convenience and peace made it an ideal combination for us. The rooms are spacious and comfortable; the bathroom has a shower over the bath, which isn’t my preference but wasn’t a problem, and the usual soaps and shampoo are provided. It’s also well placed for getting around Darwin. You’re in the middle of the entertainment area, a two-minute walk from the convention centre, and it’s an easy walk into the city for anything you might need.

The location is the one good thing about this place. We stayed three nights and, although we knew there’d be no room service during that time, nobody even collected the rubbish. The shower was filthy, with mould and disgusting grout, and the whole room felt old, marked up, and in desperate need of a facelift. There were bed bugs too. The staff generally didn’t seem to care much. We couldn’t get a late checkout unless we paid $30 for the first few hours, then $60 per hour. This definitely isn’t a four-star stay. Two stars seems more appropriate.

The staff were helpful and knew what they were doing. Rooms are a good size and the bed was fairly comfortable. It’s right by the harbour, with a range of restaurants around it and the Smith Street cafes an easy walk away. The wharf is also a short walk if you’re cruising.
